Getting Action on Job Gloom
The estimate by an official survey of the Union Labour Ministery on recent job losses will add to the pressure on policy makers for remedial action.The survey says around five lakh jobs have been lost in the last quarter of 2008,the number spread across 20 sectors which contribute a bulk of gross domestic product.Textiles,gems and jewellery,automobiles and transport head the list.The news has aleready led to critisism that the govt and the RBI are notdoing enough .Take care.
